The internet: IP addresses

Hey hi ho-hohoooow ..

Ummm... I got 25 minutes before we start our regular PHP/AJAX programming session again... we are (finally) wrapping it up ... pffff... it's gettin ready to ROCK !! hahaha... ow... sorry ^^ ... I will explain what AJAX means lateron... and what an IP address is... as always; taking it as it comes...

IP address (first) ... (IP = internet protocol... or position... look it up !?) is basically like the postalcode of your home... Each house has a unique postalcode (ask the mailman ^^) and a ! > unique < ! home number... Your address is registered at the local government office.... it is the same with an IP address... each computer that is connected to the internet has a ! > unique < ! IP address... and is officially registered...

IP addresses look like a string of numbers seperate by dots... determine your IP ... IP-addresses are always automatically stored/recorded/logged on the computers that you visit... so if you do bad things; the police can go to your internet-provider and ask who the owner is of such-and-such IP-address... this is why you have to give a copy of your passport to the internet-provider...

If I was to invite you for a hot oil body-to-body massage (o dear) and only give you my postalcode and homenumber; than surely you would look it up on the internet or a postalcode-book to find out what the matching streetname is... cuz you don't wonna miss one of my legendary massages ! ^^ (I wouldn't) ... I would of course give you the streetname because it is easy for you to remember !... but other than that it technically makes no difference; since streetnames and postalcodes are officially (unique) registered and assigned by the government... it is the same with an IP address... there are NO double IP adresses... capice !? ^^

If a computer (can) reads an IP address... than it is also possible to block it... this means that a user with IP address say... IP = 666.666.666 "huuhuuhuuuuh" can be blocked (singular) ... it is the same as telling the mailman not to deliver hot oil at a certain babe-trap address (what ur mommy warned u about ^^) ... so...

It is also possible to block a range of IP-adresses... this is the same as to say to the mailman not to deliver massage-oil between the postalcode-range 1000AB-2000YZ... which he would translate for himself into neighbourhood streetnames...

There is also a database (will explain later) called IP-to-Location... a certain company went out and connected IP addresses to GPS coordinates (Global Positioning Satelite)... we have and use this for our little project ^^ ..

You probably have experienced this event yourself; on-line dating companies have advertizing banners that recognize your IP address > match it with the IP-to-Location database > find your GPS position > than match your location with other daters and it will say where you live and who is around... IP-to Location {gps} ...

It is possible to geographically block all computer-users that are present in a certain area... users from areas that are not blocked will have access... got company ... gotta run... will continue this later ^^ ...

Yessss... where was I... IP address... ah yeah... interesting is that blocking an IP address works very effective (technically speaking)... it is a big steel closed door that cannot be penetrated... unleheesss you are not sure who it is that you are blocking.... it is common that a single IP-address is used by multiple users; for instance in a library or internet-cafe; where you don't have to hand out a copy of your passport... and yes of course you could start an internetcafe > than hack or crack> and blaim your customers ^^ ... but fortunately crime does not pay... or pays back interms of hard lessons ^^ ...
ying-yang realy makes sense I'd say... hah-hah that rhymes ^^

Ummm... was that all... ummm... um-um-um-um-ummm... o-yeah... a good example of hiding your identity (IP-address) for privacy or schizofrenic purpose (..) is either to go to an internetcafe oh-hor goto http://www.hidemyass.com/ ... what happenes there is like an virtual 'internetcafe' ... you use their webserver without having to enter a building... I think they call it: online... hmmm...

... technically speaking you will 'start' surfing from THAT point... so if you visit a lepricon; than it will NOT look at your usual pointy pink t-shirt but instead at a hairy dude from Los Alamos hahaha... this hairy dude is the one who is registered at the IP address that you are using...

Ow-ow-ow... I almost forgot... domainname registration....ahhh... what you do is make an official (ICANN) registration and connection between a unique IP address and a unique domainname... the domainname can be interpreted as the streetname... so you make-up ur own streetnames basically ^^ ... in those terms I think I own a big city hahaha... that's because I was an early internet-adaptor and could buy these domainnames at the cost of registration (1 euro/month) ... the yearly costs still kicks me in the face (price of fame !? ^^)... that because in some countries (you must be there in 'person' to register) it is very expensive due to the fact that intermediaries are involved (ah nevermind; not your problem ^^) ... it all cost money nowadays... 10.000 domainnames x 1 euro is still 10.000 euro's lol ! ... but fe. a domainname in Indonesia can start at 400 euro's (instead of 1 euro) ...

I explained earlier that the float factories have easy names so you won't have to use a lepricon (searchengine) and can go there straight... it is good to have an easy and simple domainname; that is preferably local (feels like home) than again... it must have a word in it that matches the purpose... for example... www.carscarscars.com is not interesting if you sell shoes ! ^^ ... unless you sell special shoes for cars ^^ ... anyway...

A good domainname is one that you can remember and write without error; in an instant... There are internet entrepreneurs that especially have domainnames for those that type type in wrongly... try http://www.moogle.com/ for example ??

If ya haven't fallen asleep by now ^^ than allow me to say "ah-goodbye" for now... may what ever can bless you- bless you... may the skies open up for you... may burning bushes pop-up out of nowhere... forbidden apples hit u on tha head (don't eat!!! ^^) ... whatever!.. follow your heart and speak the truth.. keep an open mind and don't take anything for granted... anything ! any-any-anything ! ... capice... like watching a magical trick; you know it ain't real but it sure looks like it ! ^^

... and please... pretty please; stay away from meat... it is bad and very very dangerous...it causes pandemics and undeniable deaths to many children (bacteria) ... most important is that it doesn't come there by itself... it requires ending of life... I have no problem with meat for adults from natural died animals; but how can you tell !?... if you can tell me what life is; than eat all you want... but by than (if you can) you will not dare and communicate in this fashion... I've been there ; so learn/pick-up from me !?? and take a short-cut... I am not charging anything... au contraire (oui oui mes amies ^^ ... probably wrong hahaha... crazier french ! ^^)
